St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church

The Coat of Arms of St. Michael the Archangel Parish conveys 3 things:
  1. The inverted red cross honors St. Peter, evokes St. Peter's martyrdom, whose name the Diocese of St. Petersburg carries.  Tradition tells us that Peter was crucified up-side down.
  2. The pommelled cross is known in heraldry as The Cross of St. Michael, in honor of Parish Patron.
  3. The background of the shield, wavy bars of blue and silver(white) represent the clear waters for which the City of Clearwater is named and in which our parish is situated.

So, our Diocese, our Patron and our City are represented in
our Coat of Arms.
